Description

BERTHING MASTER

Associated Petroleum Terminals (Immingham) Limited, jointly owned by Phillips 66 Ltd and PRAX LOR UK Limited, has an opportunity for an experienced mariner seeking a shore-based career.

Established in 1969, APT are a successful, dynamic, and progressive company, who operate the terminals import & export facilities for conventional as well as an expanding range of Green Energy feedstocks and renewable products on behalf of our Shareholder's.

As part of the APT marine team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our nine tanker berths, all located on the River Humber near Immingham.

These facilities service over 1500 vessels per year, ranging in size and type from barges to VLGC's.

In this challenging and dynamic role, your key responsibilities will include:

  • The safe, efficient, and effective control, of all tanker traffic within the infrastructure. This will include the direct supervision of the ship berthing team on the quayside.
  • Working with the ship's crews to complete ship/shore interface documentation and safety check rounds onboard the tanker.
  • Planning and liaising with terminal operation staff and external parties, to schedule and optimise shipping movements to reduce demurrage.
  • Processing ship vetting queries and vessel acceptance requests for our stakeholders.

You will be part of the Marine Team and will be expected to follow a shift system, as we operate our terminal 24 hours a day throughout the year.

Although full training will be given for this role, you will hold a minimum of a STCW OOW (Deck) Certificate of Competency and will preferably have experience of Shipboard tanker operations.

You will have a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and process situational awareness to prioritise tasks effectively in an ever-changing environment.
