Service Care Solutions are looking for a Quality Assurance and Internal Quality Assurance Officer to work within the Dorset Police on a 9-Month contract.

Job Role/Description:


  • The purpose of the Assessor and Quality Assurer is to deliver assessment, quality assurance and performance management to ensure that national professionalisation standards are embedded into all roles, ranks and grades.
  • Adheres to standardisation processes and practice.
  • Provides internal quality assurance for the Professionalisation Framework ensuring this meets National governance and Ofqual regulatory arrangements.
  • Ensures that the evidence meets the assessment requirements of accredited qualifications and Policing Professional Framework Personal Qualities.
  • The individual is responsible for developing and talent managing individuals including first
- and second-line managers through their National Police Promotion Framework (NPPF) 12-month temporary promotion period.

  • Designs and delivers specialist or bespoke learning and development solutions to meet the need and priorities of the organisation. This will include the design and delivery of outcomes from the Core Leadership Programme (CLP), assessor and internal qualityassurer courses.
  • Provides evidence for several quality assurance frameworks to ensure that the organisation meets the requirements to deliver the National Curriculum provided by the College of Policing.

Essential Knowledge/Experience:


  • HE / QCF Level 5 or above Leadership and Management / Business or Education and Training Qualification or equivalent experience.
  • QCF Level 4 Internal Quality Assurer.
  • QCF Level 3 Assessor.
  • Experience of facilitating learning and development solutions.
  • Experience of providing coaching, advice, guidance, and support to others in their professional development.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organisation.
  • Evidence showing commitment to personal continuing professional development (CPD).

Desirable Knowledge/Experience:


  • Comprehensive knowledge of Equality, Diversity and Human Rights, Health & Safety legislation, and the Data Protection Act.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the standards of performance that the organisation expects of leaders.
  • ICT skills and knowledge in particular electronic portfolios, online testing and software to support performance and talent management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of operational policing practices, in particular for Sergeants and Inspectors and knowledge of the standards of performance that the organisation expects of leaders.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of leadership National Occupational Standards, theories, and management processes.
