  • A new role has become available within our Technical Services Function. The
-
Commissioning Authority role will sit within the Projects and Engineering Team in the Technical Services department. The job holder will act as a focal point for completion, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities within TEPUK. The job holder will support an exciting portfolio of modifications and capital projects that includes HPHT and conventional flowlines, carbon footprint reduction projects and a pilot project to integrate floating wind power to a gas asset.

General activities include:


  • To ensure that projects and modifications are commissioned and safely delivered to the operations teams according to TotalEnergies' company rules and as per the engineering specifications.
  • To act as an authority on commissioning activities and provide leadership and guidance for all completion and commissioning activities
  • Ensure compliance with TotalEnergies' OPERCOM methodology
  • UK focal point for TotalEnergies' ICAPS commissioning software
  • To identify major hazards associated with commissioning activities and ensure that these hazards are mitigated to acceptable risk levels
  • Ensure that all safety and precautionary requirements and procedures are followed during the commissioning process.
  • Ensure the development of integrated commissioning plans including the scope of commissioning activities, duration, resources required, constraints as well as availability of tools and machinery.
  • Oversee the preparation of commissioning schedules, as well as prioritize system completion requirements in order to steer construction completion.
  • Oversee the creation of the Pre-Commissioning ITRs and Commissioning Test Procedures in conjunction with the respective discipline engineers
  • Monitor and coordinate, in collaboration with wider team, all commissioning activities for all systems until handover to operations to ensure objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and budget parameters.
  • Provide technical input to ensure technical completeness and integrity of constructed facilities. Maintain accurate records (asbuilt markups, punch lists, etc.)
  • Coordinate activities of vendor representatives and subcontractors
  • Manage / support more general engineering and construction activities during periods of lower commissioning activity
  • Occasional visits to onshore and offshore sites to support commissioning activities
  • Relevant Engineering Degree within Discipline and preferably Chartered Engineer.
  • Extensive experience within the upstream Oil & Gas Industry
  • Substantial experience specifically in precommissioning and commissioning.
  • Experience of greenfield and brownfield construction and commissioning
  • Technical skills enabling the individual to work independently within this role.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Strong project background and also be capable of taking a lead role in the startup phase of a project or modification.
  • Commercial awareness and familiarity with budgeting, budget approvals, cost management etc.
  • A good understanding of asset integrity and major accident hazards
  • Working knowledge of key engineering disciplines (e.g. process, piping, electrical, controls etc.).
  • Effective relationshipbuilder at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Effective communicator both written and verbal.
  • Proactive and selfstarting with the ability to work with limited supervision
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and codes of practice
  • Knowledge of the OPERCOM methodology and ICAPS software is a distinct advantage
