Department Overview

Data Collection & Publication is the domain within Technology that develops, supports and maintains the systems that are used across the organisation for systematically collecting and publishing data.

Its core function is to analyse, design, develop and successfully deliver quality, robust solutions that provide internal and external decision makers with the data they need.

It is responsible for services that support the identification, validation, availability and presentation of regulatory and statistical data to deliver accurate views of the UK financial markets.

We are at the forefront of delivering Digital Reporting and supporting the robust infrastructure underpinning it for collecting and disseminating data across regulated firms in the UK and supranational bodies around the world.

Data Collection & Publication is a cross functional team of developers, delivery managers, administrators and technicians.

Job description
This is a people management role. You will be responsible for day to day management of the team and for defining roles and responsibilities.

You will develop your team through sharing information effectively, coaching and communicating a clear vision to ensure that your staff are productive, engaged and motivated to deliver the area's aims.

This will include setting clear goals and smart stretching objectives that are aligned to those of the team, division and directorate.

You will also be responsible for managing all staff-related matters that may arise including performance, absence and sickness.

The Data Collection & Publication Delivery Lead will be accountable for delivery across the full portfolio of work within the domain, working with stakeholders from across the Bank.

The role reports to the Data Collection & Publication Domain Lead.

Specifically the role focuses on Digital Reporting, the definition and technical implementation of supervisory and statistical datasets in a structured format to meet the Bank's data collection needs.

The role holder will drive and develop the domain's strategy and roadmap in this space, in alignment with the Bank's data strategy and Transforming Data Collection (TDC) programme.

We are looking for an individual who demonstrates technical expertise in the Digital Reporting field.

The Delivery Lead will be accountable for:

setting of the strategic direction of Digital Reporting methods used ensuring synergies across the full portfolio, this includes influencing senior management in the Bank; driving the design and delivery of new and upgraded data models using a combination of internal staff and external partners; maintaining the current data models and providing operational excellence; and for continuous service improvement initiatives.

Building strong partnerships with key stakeholders in Policy, across the business areas and with Project Managers and Test Managers is imperative to success in the role.


The job holder will collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements, translate business needs into data models, and ensure the integrity and efficiency of data structures.

Work will need to be delivered to the agreed plan, considering time, budget and quality.

Deliverables will directly contribute to the Bank's strategic priority to establish a robust regulatory regime for a post-Brexit world and will join the design and standards pillar of the data transformation programme.
