Principal System Engineer

Location:
Wales and the Southwest

Salary:
£70,000 p/annum

Hybrid working (Global Travel Expected)
CPS are working with a world leading Defence Manufacturing organisation based in Wales and the Southwest. They develop advanced surveillance and navigation products and systems for their clients across the globe. These include clients in both the public andprivate sectors.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Technical Engineer who is looking to step into a senior role reporting directly into the COO, as well as an eagerness to travel across the globe for work.

As the Principal System Engineer will be integral to the full cycle of the contract phases.

During the pre-contract phase you'll be expected to:

Support the commercial team with costing noncore systems
Engage with ICPs
Consider the suitable of potential 3rd party suppliers

The post-contract phase will involve the direct dealings with the ICP and 3rd parties, and be responsible for testing, assessing and approving their work in line with compliance.

A large element of site deployment will require specification, design, documentation,deployment, acceptance testing and approval for the site.

Skills / experience:

Degree qualified Engineer or equivalent
Minimum of 10 years' experience if specifying, designing, deploying, and commissioning field installations
Able to produce quality documents and drawing
Previously worked in the Middle East or Southeast Asia
Effective cost management and budget experience is essential
Confident to be in a customer facing role
Substantial experience working with 3rd party suppliers
