You will be part of a growing team of (currently 40) highly skilled and motivated colleagues across the UK. The team is comprised of both very experienced energy engineers and a talented group of more junior engineers. We work on a range of industrial decarbonisation, renewable power and wider energy transition (e.g. green hydrogen) projects,. The department is characterized by a great team spirit and a very collaborative mindset.

Together with a small team of business development professionals, you will work with our engineers and the wider Ramboll business in the UK and internationally to develop and sustain and strong pipeline of work to support delivery of our ambitious growth targets.


Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Identify and progress new leads and opportunities through Ramboll's client relationship management (CRM) system, proactively engaging with the Senior Market Manager (Energy Transition), Opportunity Owners and Bid Managers for those pursuits falling within agreed criteria.
  • Work closely with the Senior Market Manager and wider Dept management team to monitor, plan and manage the bid process including identification and management/administration of Frameworks, bid planning and plan execution, and performance and win/loss analysis as part of our overall continuous improvement process.
  • Supporting our Sales Excellence processes and procedures, including Client Relationship Management (CRM) system, bid process and governance compliance. This may include development and provision of training materials specific to sales and bidding best practice, in collaboration with the Senior Market Manager.
  • Support development of structured, systematic and winning Bid Plans, including core Value Proposition and sales messages to generate a winning position. Ensures compliance with Win Plan (strategies and schedule), communicating with the team in the event the process is failing/where a deadline and/or win could be in jeopardy.
  • Coordinate and administer the bid process for individual bid teams including managing portals/ queries/notifications, completing standard questionnaires, scheduling and facilitating bid progress meetings, executing key stage technical and commercial reviews, and leading on graphic and text design, ensuring consistency in content and compliance with bid/response specifications.
  • Develop and maintain a marketspecific library of bid materials, including bid templates, project references, capability statements and CVs/biosketches. This may include actively contributing to the development and implementation of marketspecific marketing campaigns and wider business development activities.
  • Liaise with bid teams in other geographies to provide the above support where required and to share best practice and keep abreast of changes to Ramboll Brand requirements and developing thematic materials / templates in our areas of strategic focus.

For this role, we believe your starting point is:


  • Track record in consultancy bid coordination in the energy / engineering design sector, with evidence of supporting tender proposals
  • Effective organisation and administration skills, including proposal planning and development.
  • Experience of working within a structured CRM and sales governance system.
  • Good communication skills, responsiveness and flexibility, building trusting relationships with a range of people effectively across geographies.
  • Team player with the ability to multitask and work well under pressure while maintaining focus.
  • Excellent written English, with fluency in other main European languages welcome.
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel, as a minimum
