As a Barclays Payment Specialist, you will be joining the Business Payments division, focused on new client acquisition as well as existing client growth/loyalty & retention, offering both Issuing & Acquiring solutions via proprietary and digital channels.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to engage with SME business customers over the telephone to achieve challenging objectives and goals, selling the full range of Barclaycard solutions, including payment acceptance products, commercial cards & ecommerce solutions.

What will you be doing?
- Identifying and onboarding new customers, leading commercial negotiations over the telephone with companies within the SME market
- Leading in negotiations and contracts with new clients, while understanding, showcasing and upskilling on the full range of Barclaycard Payment Solution products
- Demonstrating effective short & long term pipeline & lead management, and identifying opportunities for other parts of Barclays Group
- Managing customers through the full sales cycle to achieve targeted objectives and goals
- Networking and collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders to build a base of multiple lead sources
- Building solid relationships with Internal stakeholders such as the Applications Processing team, Risk colleagues, Partnerships team
- Ensuring attainment of key performance indicatiors relating to sales conversion, call handling and call quality
- Embracing observations and coaching opportunities, proactively requesting feedback and delivering agreed actions
What we're looking for:
- An understanding of working within an income/target driven environment, with a proven track record of exceeding target expectations
- Experience working to an endtoend sales process with solid pipeline management
- A good understanding of businesstobusiness sales, including industry knowledge to fully understand each client's needs
- Demonstratable ability to deliver a quality experience to both the external customer market and satisfy internal measures/processes
Skills that will help you in the role:
- Knowledge or understanding of law of contract, legislation, & regulation applicable to the payment acceptance industry
- Knowledge of Barclays banking products & services
Where will you be working?
Northampton was the birthplace of Barclaycard in 1966 and we've been based in Pavilion Drive since the building opened in 1997.
This state-of-the art energy efficient building holds up to 2,500 staff.The office location is perfect for travel from the midlands and London alike as we are based just off the A45, it is easily accessible by both car and bus routes.
