An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Respiratory Physiologist to join the team in the North West Ventilation Service, Wythenshawe Hospital.

This role is for a 12-month maternity leave secondment.


The position will involve:

Performing, analysing and reporting on in-patient and outpatient sleep studies (including on NIV/CPAP).

Initiating treatment with CPAP and Bi-Level Non-Invasive Ventilation. and delivering teaching and training to patients and carers on the use of these devices.

Teaching, training and mentoring of students and junior staff.


This post will predominantly be based within the inpatient and outpatient settings on the North West Ventilation Unit, but there may be a requirement to deliver some aspects of care within the community.

Direct support will be provided from the Lead Physiotherapists and Lead Nurse for the service, alongside other members of the MDT.

Profession specific supervision is available from the Wythenshawe Lung-Function department and WTWA Sleep Service.
