Seed Environmental was established in 2013 to serve the insurance market, offering incident response for domestic fuel oil spills. Since then, we've expanded rapidly.

Today we manage complex environmental incidents for the construction, energy, chemical, industrial, and agricultural markets operating from 6 sites across the UK and Ireland.

The Role:


As a Team Leader you will work together with a Labourer as a team of two to undertake building works, groundworks, and remediation in relation primarily to oil spill incidents at domestic properties.

Work undertaken include a wide variety of tasks including external excavations and underpinning to internal brickwork and range of finishing task including decorating and paving to return properties to their original condition.

To supervise team members on site to deliver projects in a safe and timely manner.


The responsibilities of the role include:

  • Carrying out such works under the direction of the Contracts Manager and/or Operations Manager.
  • Running projects according to previously agreed schedules and budgets.
  • Utilising own initiative, skills, and knowledge where appropriate.
  • Driving machinery and undertaking hand dig excavation works to facilitate contamination removal.
  • Coordinating ordering of materials and skips to site to keep to a schedule of works.
  • Assisting with collecting photographs throughout all stages of works.
  • Carrying out works in accordance with health and safety regulations to include relevant RAMS documentation.
  • Following structural engineer's drawings/plans to carry out propping works safely, namely brickwork and blockwork.
  • Supervising Remediation Operatives on site, ensuring their health and safety is maintained.
  • Enhancing skills such as OFTEC works to assist with spill response where necessary according to the needs of the business.
  • Be willing to work away if necessary.
  • We are looking for someone with at least one to two years' experience in a relevant industry who wants to further advance their career.

Qualifications and skills required:


  • Previous sitebased experience within the environmental remedial or construction sectors.
  • Excellent communication and people skills with the ability and desire to coach and train staff.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with clients, customers, and all levels of internal Seed staff.
  • A full UK driving licence, and willingness to travel throughout the UK and Ireland with occasional requirement to work away.
  • A competent user of Microsoft Outlook.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical thinking.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, timemanagement, analytical and numerical skills with an eye for detail.
  • Commercial awareness in project finances but also in risk management.
  • Understanding of current and emerging construction legislation.

The Package

  • Permanent contract, site times of 08:00 until 16:30 Monday to Friday.
  • Company van
  • Competitive salary £35,000 per annum dependant on experience.
  • Potential to earn an annual discretionary bonus.

  • 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing to a maximum of 25 days plus bank holidays with length of service.

£35,000.00 per year
