Role

Job description

  • The administration of the customer and supplier ledgers, including importing invoices, posting receipts and processing payments
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers
  • Raising and posting sales and purchase credit notes
  • Daily banking functions including bank reconciliations
  • Importing bank payments onto online banking software
  • Supplier statement reconciliations using Excel
  • Liaising with internal staff regarding accounting transaction queries
  • Other duties as may be required by the firm
Person specification

Required Qualifications/Training

  • GCSE Maths and English Grade C or above (or international equivalent)
Required Attributes

  • Sound experience in sales and purchase ledger
  • Strong demonstrable knowledge of SAGE 50 & Microsoft Excel
  • Computer literacy
  • Excellent standard of written and spoken English
  • Have good numeracy skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to deal with high volumes of work and manage conflicting priorities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to take ownership and responsibility
  • A willing and able attitude
Desired Attributes

  • Related qualification (e.g. AAT) or degree an advantage
  • Trained in the principles of bookkeeping
Salary, Hours & Benefits

  • The salary is up to £25,000 D.O.E. (based on 37 hours per week)
