We are looking for someone who is hard working, enjoys reading, enjoys having their own workload and is interested in healthcare and administration to join us.

The post is for 25 hours a week.

Our core opening hours are between 8.00 and 18.30 with two late evening opening until 20.00 on a Tuesday and Thursday


Main duties of the job


Within this post you will review and summarise medical records new and existing and patient information and enter this data on the clinical system, to provide the clinical staff with an accurate and easily accessible electronic summary of a patient's medical history.

Provide administrative support to the practice and clinical services team lead. Duties include following the practice schedule for arranging maintenance, for premises and equipment. Alongside reporting, working with the practice IT lead to update the website and communicate with patients. Dealing with the practices social media, collating feedback, reporting and managing health check invites.

University Medical Centre is a busy GP Practice in Canterbury that provides medical services predominantly to the student population and also to the residents in our local area.

We serve a population of around 16,000 patients.

We are a 6 partner practice and have a variety of services that meets the needs of our unusual population.

We are a friendly practice that promotes team working, development and innovation.


Job summary:


Summarising


Ensure that all incoming patient records are collated, tidied, accurately summarised and stored on the patients computerised medical record and relevant information is coded.

Review any electronic transfer of medical records and ensure they are accurately recorded and coded as per practice protocol.

Follow practice protocols to ensure consistent and efficient processing of patient medical record coding.

Code clinical information onto patient computerised record.


Deal with any queries or question relating to summarising and/or coding of medical records both from internal or external sources carry out administrative tasks relating to patient records, including filing, scanning, sorting and document management.

Work closely with the Clinical Services team.


Media
Working with the IT lead and business manager update the practice website with new staff, services and updated policies.

Working with the IT lead and the business manager create and maintain a social media presence

Monitor and report on practice feedback through social media, website, internet and Friends and Family Tests.

Working with the clinical services team lead, and Lead Nurses update and maintain practice signage.


Patient services
Working with the clinical services team lead monitor and send out NHS healthcheck invites.

Support the clinical services team lead with seasonal vaccination programs.


Maintenance
Working with the business manager, request quotations and maintenance jobs from the practice contractors or the Landlord.

Provide Fire alarm tests, and safety equipment checks monthly.

Using the practice schedule and working with the finance lead ensure practice equipment is sent for maintenance and calibration.

Manage Estates mailbox and report or arrange repairs in a timely manner.
