You will be a self-motivated individual who is comfortable with a 'hands-on' role and a flexible approach to their work.
You will have/be:
- Some experience in an accounting role in practice or in industry is ideal but not essential.
- Familiar with the basic principles of accounting and bookkeeping and knowledge in general ledger.
- Experience using Sage 50 or similar software.
- Good interpersonal skills to be confident in communicating.
- Good administration and organisational skills to manage a rotation of regular tasks.
- Comfortable and experienced in working to meet deadlines.
- Qualification in Mathematics to at least GCSE level or equivalent.
- Driven and proactive.
- A team worker.
You will:
- Processing payments from team members within delegated authority levels.
- Chasing payments from partners and maintaining accurate creditor and debtor records.
- Liaising with auditors as required to provide accurate financial information as requested.
- Liaising with the Association's Management Accountant in the preparation of statutory and management accounts.
- Monitoring arrears and recharge invoices.
- Monitoring and managing void invoices.
- Sending payment remittances to suppliers.
- Posting housing benefit remittances and liaising with HB authorities regarding payments.
- Providing support to the Administration Officer as requested.
- Take responsibility of the sales ledger, purchase ledger and payment runs, ensuring the processes are maintained and monitored according to supplier payment terms.
- Bank Reconciliations; postings and allocations
- Assist with report production for operational staff.
- Assist with month end journals including accruals and prepayments.
- Liaising with external contractors and suppliers and dealing with any transactional queries.
- Posting all rental income receipts in a timely manner. This includes setting up Direct Debits, dealing with HB postings and any ad hoc BACS payments.
