  • Based at Stansted Airport, Workforce Deployment & Improvement team (Resourcing)
  • Secondment / Fixed term contract position 6 months shift based role. This role works on a ten week roster pattern. Hours are between , covering 7 days per week.
  • Average 40 hours per week.
  • Band 6. Salary £30, 159 p.a. rising to £33, 431 after a successful probationary period.
  • Additional shift allowance of 17.5%

About the role:

We are currently recruiting for a Resource Planner to join our busy Resourcing team at Stansted Airport.

The purpose of the Resourcing team is:


To convert the resource requirements developed by the Operational Planning team into resource schedules, ensuring that the day plan is efficiently and effectively resourced by individuals with the required skill sets to execute the work.

The resourcing team is responsible for generating and understanding schedules for staff involved in the running of all flow operations including, but not limited to;

  • Passenger, Bags, Goods and services. Waste, Retail merchandise, Aircraft, Vehicles, Construction
And the operation and maintenance of all facility operations including, but not limited to:

  • Airfield infrastructure, Terminal infrastructure, Pre-terminal infrastructure

Accountabilities:

  • Drives the resource scheduling tools to optimize the schedule around financial targets and makes the schedules available to those who execute them.
  • Continuously improves the cost effectiveness of the schedule, to minimise the resource costs and maximise the efficiency of the resourcing plan.
  • Ensures that previous learning is shared and converted so that repeated scheduling problems do not occur
  • Contributes to the achievement of improvement targets for: o Compliance with the scheduling process.
  • The effective use and development of the IT resource scheduling systems.
  • The completeness, quality and accuracy of systembased resource scheduling information.
  • The timeliness of distribution of operational plans and their component parts.
  • Eradication of scheduling failures
  • Improvements in personal effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Monitors 3rd party resources to the extent that they could impact on
    MAG's operational objectives. Effectively communicating these 3rd party deviations to all those who are likely to be impacted.
  • Contributes to the design and delivery of great solutions into the Customer Service Directorate through appropriate utilisation or channelling of team ideas/time to the Continuous Improvement team.
  • Staff administration tasks such as maintaining and updating computer systems with data regarding staff moves, new starters/ leavers and administering requests for annual leave, overtime and shift swaps. (The volume of this type of activity will reduce over time with the continuous improvement of systems the introduction of more 'selfservice' functionality to enable staff to manage their own administration.)
  • Any other duties as reasonably requested by the company that may be outside the standard remit of the role.
  • To take responsibility for personal and team compliance with Company Health and Safety Policies, ensuring safe working practices are maintained which minimise the risk to self, work colleagues, customers and staff.
  • To be knowledgeable about the facilities and layout of the airport to assist passengers and airport users with their queries
  • To demonstrate a flexible and helpful attitude, assisting in the smooth running of the airport

What will make you successful in this role

We are looking for someone who has/is:

  • Experience of scheduling work in a people / infrastructure / security environment.
  • A positive, flexible and enthusiastic attitude will be more important than formal qualifications for this role.
  • Able to rapidly integrate into a teamworking environment.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft packages Word & Excel & PowerPoint
  • Creative and proactive approach.
  • Effective communication skills with people at all levels.
  • Great organisational, planning & prioritising skills.
  • Experience in using company systems such as CSS, RMS would be an advantage
