Salary:
£3- 38,000 dependent on experience

We are working on behalf of an esteemed organisation who are seeking an experienced Senior HR Advisor to join their HR team to work close with HR Business Partners.

This is a Senior HR Advisor position, and at times you will be expected to deputise for yourHR Business Partner.

This position requires up to date HR and employment law knowledge, with the ability to effectively advise and coach managers regarding HR policies and procedures in order to assess business risks.

You will be responsible for handling complexadvisory case work.

As well as working collaboratively across the business HR functions to ensure a best in class service is provided to all, and continually strive to improve performance through continuous policy review and improvements.

The company are operating a hybrid working model which is flexible around business needs. You will have a mixture of home and office based days.


Role and responsibilities:

  • As a Senior HR Advisor, you will be responsible for providing accurate advice and guidance to line managers relating to employee lifecycle topics for example performance, sickness, occupational health, conduct, discipline, grievance, secondments, TUPE,probation and AWOL
  • Assist line managers to ensure all factors are considered from both a HR and commercial business risk perspective on all HR matters relating to complex employee relations cases
  • Responsible for investigating, resolving issues, providing timely expert advice, guidance and coaching to employees and managers as well as using professional judgement to escalate matters when required
  • Act as an initial point of contact and support for other HR colleagues on more complex enquiries, providing technical advice, guidance, and support, and taking responsibility for matters where appropriate
  • Responsible for effectively coaching managers on all HR processes ensuring ownership and responsibilities remain in the appropriate places
  • Assist managers with assessing skills gaps and develop tools for managers to enable them to effectively manage their staff and address needs
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of service standards across the HR function to ensure a best in class service
  • Proactively support the HR Business Partner by ensuring operational efficiency as well as identifying and implementing HR process improvement in day to day work
  • Ensure all data records are accurately updated and maintained in line with GDPR and company policy
  • Review and analyse HR data to identify areas of improvement in HR processes then work with HR colleagues to address issues and develop proposals for driving improvements and efficiencies
  • When required responsible for deputising for the HR Business Partner

Skills and experience required:

  • Proven and significant background as a Senior HR Advisor or HR Business Partner is essential
  • Ability to demonstrate experience handling complex advisory casework
  • Understanding of best practice in HR procedures
  • Up to date knowledge of employment law
  • CIPD level 7 or equivalent essential
  • Confident communicator and relationship builder at all stakeholder levels
  • Multitasker and planning skills to organise workload and prioritise workload
  • Ability to challenge and coach managers on HR matters
  • Positive attitude to team working in a collaborative manner
