We have an opening for a Supplier Quality Officer to join our Quality Team - the hybrid role is based in Newcastle Upon Tyne in the UK


You'll be joining a team that has a global reach in an exciting phase of transformation as we partner with customers, internal teams, and our parent company Alstom, to advance our approach to supplier quality across the world.


You will be responsible for supporting the QHSE day to day activities and longer-term improvement projects for the company specifically in relation to quality management.

Supporting the Head of QHSE with key objectives and deliverables of quality management and improvement


You can work from either our Newcastle HQ and also, as we are a free and flexible business, from home - _providing you are happy to travel on occasion.

_ What will I be doing?_

The main areas of responsibility are to:

  • Assist the Head of QHSE in defining the quality management measures required to assure, assess and improve
quality management at Nomad,

  • Assist in the development of specific processes and document standardization for Nomad,
  • Develop the business management system (BMS) and work with the QHSE Administrator to manage all
document control requirements,

  • Develop the BMS processes and procedures and forms to align with restructure of departments and operations
as required,

  • Support all administration functions of the QHSE department such as training, support and legal compliance,
  • Monitor audit planning, execution and follow up at Nomad and assist in risk assessment reviews,
  • Prepare, monitor and maintain monthly QHSE performance data reports and assist on the global quality
improvement activities - take a lead on all items of quality,

  • Assist in quality related investigations supporting stakeholders and customer interaction,
  • Deputise for the Head of QHSE as needed in periods of travel and absence in relation to quality management
  • Collaborate with all Nomad departments for quality issues,
  • Support all global stakeholders to champion quality management and drive continuous improvement,
  • Analyse and present quality performance data and suggest and conduct improvement programmes as required, to improve compliance and performance across Nomad,
  • From time to time assist with HSE administrative tasks as directed.
  • What experience or qualifications do I need to have?_
  • An internal Auditor qualification is essential,
  • You will have a good foundation knowledge of quality and health and safety management skills previously in an officer role,CQI certificate in quality management or equivalent
  • The role will ideally fit someone with a passion for Quality
  • Experience of document control and management systems is essential
  • Experience of working with iso9001 standard is desired
  • Experience of working with iso14001 standard is desired
  • Experience of working with iso45001 standard is desired
  • Experience of process development and evolution and documenting / mapping
  • Experience of internal process and compliance audits
  • Experience of maintaining training and database information
  • Experience of critiquing quality data and presenting this
  • Experience of pivot tables and quality tools essential
  • Other Requirements:_
  • The ability to analyse complex problems and assess possible solutions
  • The Ability to work under pressure for deadlines when required
  • The Ability to ensure confidentiality of company information when required
  • Attention to detail in relation to document numbering and issuing
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to prioritise and plan effectively
  • The ability to challenge process and normal activity to drive improvement
