Are you a highly skilled dietitian with experience in paediatrics, weight management or health improvement looking for an exciting new role in paediatric weight management?


We are seeking a paediatric dietitian to join our highly respected Health Board wide team working alongside the wider weight management, health improvement and paediatric teams to lead the development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of weight management services for children, young people and families.

You will be joining an ambitious, friendly team, focussed on delivering excellent dietetic care.


To develop, implement, deliver and evaluate weight management services for children, young people and families acting as the dietetic expert, working alongside the multiprofessional paediatric team and wider partners.


You will be responsible for working with partners across the Health Board and in the community to support the implementation of the Healthy Weight Healthy Wales Strategy and the All Wales Weight Management Pathway for children, young people and families.

You will be expected to take a holistic approach to supporting the delivery of weight management interventions from prevention throughout the clinical pathway.

You will actively participating in development, evaluation and improvement work, and the implementation of policy, guidance and standards.


Operationally manage and clinically supervise delegated nutrition and dietetic staff ensuring consistent evidence based standards of care and effective multi-disciplinary working across the health board area.


Oversee the planning of dietetic delivery while acting as an expert dietetic advisor for other members of the team in relation to paediatric weight management.

Lead the development and implementation of nutrition and dietetic related guidance and standards, resources, training and education in paediatric weight management and ensure effective integration across programs of work.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.


Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties.

Numerous locations providing mental health and learning disabilities services;

Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.
