WHAT TO EXPECT
As part of the Technical Specialist community, you will be a functional resource for the company.
This role includes developing the future company strategy for processes, components and systems for Vehicle NVH (Noise Vibration Harshness) Pass by noise and Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS) legislation compliance including methods and tools development.
You will be a custodian of elements of our key technology for current and future products and will be expected to teach, mentor and present at global conferences.
This new NVH TS role will lead the development of requirements, tools, techniques and testing for pass by noise and AVAS requirements - working across the whole Jaguar Land Rover product range.
WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
- Develop a business aligned vision for the technical delivery of NVH Pass by legislation compliance
- Technical leadership to drive function, quality, cost and timing improvements on programmes
- Establish best technical practice for NVH pass by deployment and delivery tools, methodologies and formal processes
- Champion NVH pass by noise and AVAS knowledge transfer both within and outside the VNVH department through both formal training and individual mentoring
- Expected to teach, mentor and present internally and at world class conferences
- Establish and deploy best technical practice for NVH pass by noise and AVAS delivery
- Thorough understanding of both internal and external customer to develop attribute and technology requirements
- Development of process and reports to ensure consistent and robust deployment of legislative requirements
- Support task force activities to solve complex engineering problems
- Promote the deployment of systems engineering into the company
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Indepth knowledge and technical expertise in specialist technologies, complex systems and tools and processes
- Expert knowledge of NVH pass by noise and AVAS tools and processes
- Extensive experience of the deployment of NVH pass by noise and AVAS tools and methodologies to affect improvement of the NVH performance in the product delivery process
- Expert NVH signal processing and analysis experience
- Analytical skills including the ability to conduct complex research into new technologies, systems and tools
- Ability to effectively explain complex ideas, confidently presenting these to senior stakeholders
- Degree or relevant equivalent experience preferred
- Will be required to go through the Technical Specialist recruitment process as detailed in Technical Specialist Handbook.
