Ipswich West Community Therapy Team has an opening for B3 Generic Workers to work alongside the Community Therapy team.


The Ipswich West Community Healthcare service is part of a wider Integrated Neighbourhood Team (INT) consisting of district & community nurses, generic workers, community matron, occupational therapists and physiotherapists led by nurse leads, therapy lead and an integrated neighbourhood team manager.

The team is busy, dynamic and proud of their holistic care approach.

The team continues to change to support developments in NHS which includes close working relationships with the local statutory, non-statutory and voluntary services including GP, acute hospital colleagues, GP Federation, Social Prescribers, SuffolkMind, NSFT and many local community voluntary groups.

Applicants need to be a Driver and have access to a car for work which is community based'

You will be actively supported by regular supervision and individual annual appraisal. You will be expected to work autonomously and on behalf of the patients served by the local area. You will have access to skills development training relevant to the post.


The role involves providing nursing interventions to the housebound residents in a specific geographical area who are 18 and over, registered with an Ipswich GP.

Our main aim is to support, maintain and encourage people to make healthy lifestyle choices in the ageing well process.


Conditions include long-term neurological conditions, palliative and end of life care; diabetes; acute medical episodes, wound care and phlebotomy - all with a view to preventing admission and supporting early discharge.

Many of our patients have a complexity of needs across the spectrum of physical and mental and social care needs.
