WHAT TO EXPECT

As part of the Global Planning and Logistics function, the Outbound Distribution Department is responsible for the movement of finished Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles, from receipt at the 3 Manufacturing Plants to 1000+ dealers in UK & Europe and customers in over 140+ Markets worldwide.

The UK Operations team are a key element within the department, responsible for the planning and effective distribution of Circa 400,000 Jaguar and Land Rover Vehicles per annum across multiple shifts from all 3 UK Plants to all UK Ports plus over 250 UK Dealers.

The responsibility of the Distribution Controller encompasses all Jaguar and Land Rover products from the Halewood Manufacturing Facility in which you will be expected to drive and contribute towards continuous improvements in process, suppliers and facilities to drive damage free delivery across UK.

You will also be required to control and supervise the Manufacturing to Sales handover process, working as required to meet the manufacturing plan.

Other duties include the day-to-day operations of distribution compounds including despatch out to local compounds and ports of exit and maintaining 100% inventory accuracy of Vehicles in the distribution process through the distribution network to the designated point of delivery, be that dealer premises, UK port of exit or transfer compounds.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED
To be successful in this position, you will need to be someone who is willing to drive high levels of Health and Safety across all process areas and strive to deliver Zero Harm, support the development, procurement and operation of Service Level Agreements with all suppliers and develop and deliver logistics support as required to meet plant requirement to meet all Launch,

As a distribution controller, you should expect to batch and hold and off site WIP movements - as well as contributing to the development, and ensure the effective operation of, the Finished Vehicle Distribution system (D42) to ensure accurate vehicle data at all times.

Jaguar Land Rover need someone who is going to be communicative, cooperative and is going to contribute towards the effective management of an operational budget ensuring continuous cost improvements.

As well as this, you should be able to ensure that effective operating control processes are in place that are aligned to plant practice, satisfy all audit requirements and provide the basis for accurate and timely management reporting as required.

Please note that this role requires shift work.

The patterns are as follows:

Early Shift
Mon to Thu 6:002:45 Fri 6:0011:00
Late Shift Mon to Thu 13:3022:30

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

High levels of personal organisation and motivation are essential frequent exposure in senior forums can be expected
Able to demonstrate confident negotiation and influencing skills
Excellent team leading capability is essential. It will be a requirement to organise and drive the team to achieve plant objectives and resolve cross functional issues
The role demands a strong level of business knowledge and a broad understanding of the interfaces into other areas e.g. Manufacturing, Quality, Marketing and Sales, Finance, Launch, Systems, etc
High drive, selfmotivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision
Strong verbal and written communication skills are important to communicate across all levels, and these should be combined with a confident attitude and good presentation abilities
Possess good IT skills
Full UK Driver's Licence

Desirable:

Ideally degree qualified and/or technical/professional qualification.
Ideally strong background in Manufacturing / MP&L / Operations / Engineering or Product launch.
