This Senior Research Manager will report into the Head of Research in the UK but will work across two teams: the Research and Advisory Services in Europe and a US based Center for Sustainability.

This role will support the development and execution of sustainabilityfocused research from both teams and be the link between them.


There will be a particular focus on contributing to global projects that the Center for Sustainability are producing with a European view and making sure the relevant European reports take into account the Center for Sustainability content.

This includesengagement during the report process, making sure they are suitable for European audience and launching the reports across Europe.


Specific Responsibilities


The primary responsibility of the Senior Research Manager will be to initiate new and lead on and contribute to the delivery of research projects.


Project Management

  • Develop and execute project management plans for research work.
  • Support research proposal creation through desktop research, corporate member meetings, and draft budgeting.
  • Contribute to the funding strategy and fund raising for projects, through desktop research, liaising with Business Development colleagues and creating, maintaining sponsor lists, and following up on queries.
  • Manage and liaise with research partners when external organisations/freelancers are commissioned to carry out projects.
  • Ensure that all publications are delivered on time and to the highest possible standard.

Research and Writing

  • Conduct research when carried out inhouse, including desktop research, literature reviews, developing surveys and analysing results, and preparing materials for research workshops and events.
  • Draft up, collect feedback, and edit research projects when carried out inhouse.
  • Draft, collect feedback and edit articles for internal and external publications on Europe's research programme and other topics of interest.
  • Staff and Member Engagement and Support
  • Work with Stakeholders and staff globally to generate ideas for new research and involve them in existing research projects.
  • Engage with members in Europe through recurring knowledgesharing calls, thought leadership features, and inclusion in broader European sustainability efforts.
  • Events and webinars
  • Proactively work with the events teams for the panEuropean and global rollout of new research.
  • Speak at internal and external events about the organisation's work and research projects as required.

Essential Experience

  • Approximately 710 years of previous work experience in an area relevant to the job specification.
  • Good working knowledge of sustainability, climate change, green buildings, real estate, local climate policy, and related topics.
  • Experience undertaking qualitative and / or quantitative research.
  • Experience with and comfort engaging with senior leaders in real estate and land use.
  • Project management experience.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Demonstrated excellence with verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment, juggling multiple projects.
  • A collaborative attitude and positive approach to teamwork.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to travel abroad occasionally
