Where:
London
Hours:37.5hrs per week (fixed term contract for 18 months)
Salary:
£22, £23,525.95 dependent on experience (London Weighting applies £2, OLW) - £3, ILW)
Responsibilities:
As a Peer Mentor you will use your own lived experience of substance misuse/dependency to inspire, support and encourage individuals to engage with the Job Centres and local Substance Misuse Services.
It will be your role to create a safe space for your mentees to explore their needs and identify the goals that are important to them.
Additionally, you will be at the forefront of inspiring, motivating, and supporting individuals to manage dependencies, and access essential support.
You will play a pivotal role in helping them achieve their aspirations, with comprehensive training and a chance to work alongside a passionate and dedicated team.
To excel in this role, we are looking for:
- Your own lived experience of substance misuse and recovery.
- Exceptional communication skills to connect with and inspire others.
- A deep well of empathy, a nonjudgmental attitude, and the ability to motivate.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with proficient IT skills.
- Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
