About the role
Working with Prof. Peter McHugh's research group to contribute to the study of DNA repair.
Your responsibilities encompass testing hypotheses, managing academic research, developing scientific techniques, characterizing nucleases, staying updated on DNA repair advancements, and contributing to projects and grant proposals.
The post will be based at the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine, John Radcliffe Hospital, Headington, Oxford OX3 9DU, and is offered on a full-time basis, fixed-term for 2 years in first instance.
About you
You will be required to have research experience in molecular cloning, cell culturing, cryo-electron microscopy, X-ray crystallography, and protein/complex characterization.
Your role will involve managing research projects, mentoring junior researchers, collaborating internally and externally, and organizing and prioritizing work independently.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presenting at international symposia and to non-specialist audiences, are also crucial.Applicants should hold a PhD (or be near to completion) in structural biology molecular biology or biochemistry.
