Hours: 37.5 hours per week


Location:
Totton, Southampton will be required to travel across the UK


Reporting to:

Salary:
£33k - £37k per annum depending on experience


Job Background
Dentaid has grown significantly over the recent years.

We have expanded our operational services with the nurturing of existing relationships and the development of new relationships across England and overseas.

This is an exciting time for the charity as we look to develop a number of new services and to continue growing the organisation to meet the needs of our local communities at home and abroad.

This new role has been developed to provide effective project management to successfully deliver project development opportunities, alongside project management for new services.


Reporting to the Head of Development, you will need to have the ability to manage resources efficiently, multi task, meet deadlines, be proactive, intuitive and communicate with all stakeholders providing excellent support to all partners, staff and volunteers.


Highly organised, operationally, and financially aware, you'll be expected to build effective working relationships within the organisation and with external partners, contractors and funders to meet the demands of ongoing and future projects.

Due to the need to travel across the UK, including to rural locations, the post holder must have a full driving license and means of transport.


Summary of the Role


This role will support the Head of Development with the development and delivery of new projects / services across Dentaid in line with Dentaid's vision and ambitions.

Leading on project management and mobilisation of new projects, you will work closely with the team to ensure that all new projects are completed to legislative requirements, on time and on budget.

You will be responsible for drafting project management systems and processes, including project plans, risk plans and project budgets.


Key Responsibilities
Project Management

  • Assess project management requirements of all project development opportunities in the UK.
  • Define timescales, timelines, resource needs and costs for project development opportunities and new projects
  • Draw up project plans for the different stages of the project to ensure the overall project timelines and costs are adhered to
  • Manage the daily delivery of projects, including researching and liaising with host organisations including the logistics and management of lorries
  • Negotiating with contractors, ensuring that our contractors for property are well
- managed, delivering quality and value for money

  • Produce tender documentation and specifications as necessary
  • Continuously monitor quality, costs and progress, ensuring that projects meet all legislative requirements
  • Act as the lead operational contact for all stages of project management, working collaboratively with Chief Executive, Head of Development and Finance Manager
  • Work collaboratively with the Practice Manager to ensure that service delivery meets all legislative requirements in terms of Health and Safety and CQC requirements
  • Work in partnership with the Workshop Manager and Fundraising Team to seek to reduce project costs through the effective use of donations and volunteers
  • Draft reports for the senior management and board of trustees to ensure they are aware of project progress, risks and any mobilisation challenges
  • Develop systems and processes alongside the Development Manager to cost, plan and analyse the project's risks
Strategic

  • Collaboratively with the Development Manager, devise and deliver a project development strategy, systems and processes to ensure the effective growth and mobilisation of new projects
  • Implement a dynamic approach that embraces change and innovation.
Risk Management

  • Ensure all processes are robust and compliant with all legislative and organisational requirements
  • Ensure all relevant risks are identified and managed appropriately
  • Design and deliver risk management plans, policies, and procedures in key areas within Project Management
People Management

  • Provide line management support to any staff, volunteers or apprentices as needed, seeking opportunities to develop flexible workforces that support project management and implementation
Compliance with Organisational policies and regulatory requirements

  • Abide by Dentaid's policies and procedures and regulatory requirements at all times and in particular: o Health and Safety o Adult and Child Safeguarding o Confidentiality and Data Protection Act
  • Ensure all relevant policies and procedures are regularly reviewed and well embedded.
  • Play an active part in the development and implementation of organisational wide policies and procedures
