Role Summary

Investigating and maintaining a portfolio of Marine claims on both the Company and Lloyd's platforms, working within authority on claims of moderate technical complexity.

Key Responsibilities

Handling a portfolio of Marine claims on both the Company and Lloyd's platforms.
Performing investigations and evaluating claims through contact with insureds, claimants, witnesses and experts.
Setting activities, reserves and authorises payment within scope of authority.
Ensuring disbursements are issued promptly whilst effectively managing loss costs and claims expenses.
Identifying and escalating serious claim developments to management.
Working alongside legal counsel, account representatives, brokers, underwriters and insureds to develop a focused strategy for timely and cost effective resolution of claims.
Developing and maintaining strong broker relationships.

Key Requirements

Previous experience of handling Marine Claims or other relevant lines of business, including Construction and Energy.
Working knowledge of Cargo, Transport & Logistics, Marine Liability, and Fine Art & Specie claims.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
