Accounts Assistant
Eastbourne (HYBRID)
Permanent, Full Time Role
Salary £25,000-28,000pa
New opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a large client based in central Eastbourne with the opportunity to work from home 2-3 days per week.

Reporting directly to the Financial Reporting Manager as part of their team, this individual will have a busy, varied role involving ledger maintenance, month-end close tasks, and involvement in account reconciliations and other financial controls.
Job duties:
- Transactional processing duties including verifying and maintaining all necessary records for invoices, expenses, payments and transactions
- Monitoring daily communications and dealing effectively with finance related queries
- Owning the recording, maintenance and documentation of certain bank transactions, including Direct debits and Electronic fund transfers
- Complete the reconciliation of bank accounts, investigating and resolving reconciling items in a timely manner, escalating issues where appropriate
- Preparing and processing journals (including monthend journals, cost allocations)
- Verifying expense claims submitted through the company expenses system and other related administration tasks.
- Working with colleagues across the Finance function and wider business to complete elements of the monthly reporting process and routine daily/weekly management reports
- Involvement in preparing account reconciliations and other financial controls to ensure robust and reliable financial information
- Involvement in yearend finalisation and Trial balance preparation
- Assisting with compliance requirements for Finance, including statutory financial reporting, external audit process, VAT, Corporation Tax, CIS
- Involvement in finance & reporting projects, particularly those impacting financial accounts activities and finance operated systems
- Helping to document and maintain Finance procedures, updating and implementing changes where necessary
