Role Description
Each Innovate Recycle carpet deconstruction and recycling operating shift will have a process line lead. The Process Line Lead reports to the site Operations Manager and is responsible for ensuring that the Innovate Recycle processing line, its constituent machinery parts and supporting machinery (e.g. the forklift trucks) are operating efficiently and delivering the agreed level of carpet waste throughput.

Effective delivery of the role is vital in enabling the delivery of the Innovate Recycle process and the necessary quality of end reclaimed product.

The Process Line Lead is an internal role and part of the process line operations team.

The role reports to the site Operations Manager but will also regularly interact with other process line / shift delivery leads to ensure effective delivery of the whole process and to implement line improvement and enhanced performance wherever possible.


Initially part of a small team setting up and establishing the company, focused on quality of materials delivery to the process line, it is anticipated that the role may grow into additional responsibilities as Innovate Recycle establishes its market position as the UK's leading post-consumer and industrial carpet recycler.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Take the lead responsibility at the Innovate Recycle facility named above, within the allocated operating shift, for ensuring that the carpet deconstruction process line, its constituent machinery parts and supporting machinery (e.g. the forklift trucks) are operating efficiently and delivering the required throughput of carpet waste.
  • Motivate, and support a small team of operating shift, Process Line Operatives.
  • Ensure that the correct training is provided to new Process Line team members, and that regular refresher training is provided to the team on specific items of process line and supporting machinery, on operating facility procedure, health & safety procedures and other necessary training as agreed with the Operations Manager.
  • With the Operations Manager agree and deliver a weekly and monthly schedule of maintenance for the process line and supporting machinery. With the both the Operations and Project Managers identify as appropriate potential line efficiency measures to aid enhanced process line productivity and performance.
  • Working with the Operations Manager and the other shift leads, ensure sufficient supplies of target material are maintained at the Innovate Recycle facility to enable the continuous operation of the process line within the operating shifts period.
  • With the Operations Manager agree and report on weekly and monthly key performance indicators; commensurate with process line efficiency, processing the necessary waste material tonnage to achieve the overall facility performance targets.
  • Strict leadership and responsibility for maintenance of company health and safety policy and guidelines within the process line area and as a contributor to the overall health and safety of the Innovate Recycle operating site named above.
  • Build a headline understanding of the core purposes of the business; recycling polypropylene and other materials from endoflife carpet and linked products; and championing the circular economy, in the carpet industry and in the increasing use of recycled plastics.

Experience and Qualifications

  • GCSE or equivalent qualifications in English and Maths.
  • Proven experience as a team leader and line operative in recycling or linked, process line based industries.
  • Motivated and flexible, part of a multitasking team launching and establishing this technology start up; willing to adapt and take on a range of tasks to support the development of the company.
  • A very high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • An organisational innovator, able to propose new ideas and act on them for the benefit of the company and its development.

Salary:
£25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
