Description
We are looking for enthusiastic, life-loving and honest individuals to join our close knit team of Personal Assistants.

In the role, you'll work 1:1 alongside another team member to deliver person-centred support to enable us to continue living our busy and social lifestyles.

Tasks differ from light household duties to keep our home and your work environment clean, assisting with personal care, helping us look after our pets and accompanying us on trips out to social events and holidays.

ABOUT US
We are two young, fiercely independent women living in our own home in the Torpoint area. We are both currently taking a break from working full-time to focus on our health and enjoying life more. We are very passionate about living 'normal' lifestyles and not letting our disabilities control what we can do. However, this is impossible without the help from our amazing Personal Assistants.

We have 2 cats, Harmony and Pearl, who we think are the real reason people enjoy working with us. We love drinking tea, cooking new recipes, going to gigs and bingeing Netflix shows. We also have our own business where we create personalised gifts.

We have received some form of care from the age of 6 years old. We began employing our own Personal Assistants in 2017 after using agencies for a little while.

Although it can be super challenging at times, we wouldn't change it for the world and love being able to form close relationships with our team members.

As our Personal Assistants play such an integral part in our lives, it is incredibly important for us to find people who share the same values as us and who can dedicate themselves to ensuring that we are kept safe, independent and living life to the fullest

WE CAN OFFER YOU...

  • A thorough induction and shadow shifts
  • Supportive management and colleagues
  • A super relaxed and fun work environment
  • Ability to swap shifts when needed
  • Statutory benefits such as annual leave, sick pay and maternity pay (where eligible)
  • Enrolment into a pension scheme
  • A private space to share with other Personal Assistants with several facilities such as a fridge, microwave and kettle

WHAT WE NEED

The following skills/qualities are essential to the role:

  • Manual driving license, access to a vehicle and confidence to drive our adapted van for varying distances (we like to travel a lot)
  • Fluency in the English language
  • Willingness to learn and be trained
  • Ability to respect privacy and confidentiality
  • Good communication / social skills
  • Ability to work on call shifts and cover at short notice
  • Ability to be flexible and cover annual leave
  • Ability to come away with us
  • A good sense of humour

CURRENT VACANCIES

Shifts are 24 hours long and start and finish at 7AM, with a sleep in included.
