We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist to join the Stroke and Early supported discharge service in a Team Lead position.
The role is being advertised on a fixed term part-time basis and will involve 7 day working.We are seeking a committed, enthusiastic, and compassionate individual to join our team of Allied Health Professionals.
We are based in Southport District General Hospital, and Ormskirk & District General Hospital, which are easily accessible by car or train from Liverpool City Centre (19 miles), Ormskirk (6.5 miles), Wigan (19 miles) and Manchester (44 miles).
You will lead an experienced team comprising of Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language therapists, Physiotherapy, Dietetian's and support staff across both the inpatient Stroke service and across the Early supported discharge team.

- To oversee the delivery of a specialist therapy service to patients of Southport & Ormskirk Hospitals NHS Trust.
- To provide specialist expert clinical support to junior staff and students.
- The post holder will demonstrate by example, and have advanced communication skills, using them to motivate, develop, guide and advance speech & language therapy skills required by the team in order to provide a highquality responsive therapy team.
- To provide specialist assessment and management advice for patients whilst working closely with all members of the MDT.
- Accept clinical responsibility for and manage a caseload of complex cases using advanced knowledge, evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions as required.
- To take part in the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of therapy services within the designated area, holding responsibility for defined projects, including the development of team outcome measures, risk assessment, documentation and operational policies in conjunction with the team leaders.
Southport is a pleasant coastal town - a great place to live and work. The cities of Liverpool and Manchester are close by with great train links. The beautiful Lancashire fells and Lake District National Park are also within easy reach.
The North West Regional Spinal Injuries Centre at Southport hospital provides specialist care for spinal patients from across the North West, North Wales and the Isle of Man.
- To assist in the meeting of Therapy and Rehabilitation/Trust Objectives in relation to patient care.
- To oversee the day to day running of the teams,
- To lead in the development of evidence based clinical guidelines / protocols within the speciality.
- To work as a member of the wider multidisciplinary team to develop and enhance the Therapy services for this rehabilitation
- Undertake Trust and local induction
- Completion of competencies relevant to role
- Clinical supervision and PDR (Appraisal) with review
