What you will be doing

We have an interesting opportunity to join our claims team based in London as a Claims Assistant.

You'll be responsible for undertaking routine claims handling and assisting Claims Executives and the wider claims team with administration tasks.

The claims team covers the full range of P&I and FDD claims for shipowner and charterer members.

Your main duties will include:

Undertaking routine claims handling, including personal injury matters, cargo claims, and preload steel surveys
Monitoring and progressing the setting up of claims once incidents have been created
Maintaining a log of safety and loss enquiries dealt with by the claims team
Carrying out research
Administering claims bordereaux

Your profile

We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys what they do and has a determined 'can do' attitude. A confident communicator liaising effectively with internal and external partners.

Ideally, you'll have:

Excellent organisation, administration and prioritisation skills
Excellent written and verbal communications
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically word and excel
Attention to detail
Be a strong team player
A keen interesting in shipping law
