About the Role:

Our site in Newport employs around 1,500 people and produces a huge range of ready meals for major retailers.

It is a complex, fast-paced environment and your key responsibilities will include:


  • Financial responsibility and control for the site, working to deliver business objectives, while ensuring alignment with group policies and procedures.
  • As a key part of the senior leadership team, working collaboratively with other managers to reduce costs and drive EBITDA performance.
  • Leading and developing your team, with a focus on people development and talent management.
  • Managing the site's balance sheet and fixed assets register, leading the full accounting and reporting processes.
  • Supporting the wider operational structure to improve financial performance, focusing on fixed overheads and variable labour and material costs.

About You:


  • A fully qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA or ACCA) with prior experience of leading a finance team in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, able to influence and challenge colleagues at all levels.
  • Demonstrable experience of strategic planning, improving processes, and leading change.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to work effectively with nonfinance managers.
  • Able to plan and prioritise a busy workload in a fast paced environment.
  • Proactive in approach, prepared to challenge the statusquo.
