Description

We are looking for a Models and Prototype Consultant to join a client in West London working within the medical devices industry.

The incumbent will enable the delivery of high-quality functional and visual models and prototypes to the design studio.

Providing a consultancy to internal designers on how things can be best made to achieve the desired outcome of the model.

Key Responsibilities & Account-abilities

  • Producing parts manually from drawings
  • Finishing CNC machined parts or outsourced rapid prototype parts
  • Creating Silicone tools and operating vacuum casting machinery to produce high quality resin castings
  • Metrology of parts using the companies equipment to ensure adherence to specified tolerances
  • Assembly of parts into finished models
  • Understanding of and compliance with corporate quality system
  • Support stock material ordering
  • Support the maintenance and general upkeep of the Development Centre
  • Dispatch of models in secure packaging
  • General building and facilities support, advising Operations Management as necessary

Requirements:


  • Excellent hand modelmaking skills
  • Manual machine competence
  • Use of 3D CAD to assist in the inspection and assembly of parts into finished models
  • Direct programming of lathe
  • Competency on a laser cutter
  • Attention to detail, creative thinking and problem solving.
