Additional Comments

Greater Manchester Police has been going through a period of immense change, with a new force command team steering a new purpose and direction.

We are an organisation that comprises a great number of officers and staff who are committed, professional, compassionate, and courageous, who do things every single day that most either could not or would not do.

As part of this, in 2023 we will be launching our new Force Crime Management Unit (FCMU).

The FCMU will have responsibility for crime recording, as well as initial investigation and ensuring the overall quality of crime recording and investigations, force wide.

A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for Transferee's and Rejoiners to join the Force Crime Management Unit, in the rank of Inspector as part of the Initial Investigation Team.

The role will take initial ownership of high volume, low risk investigations and complete a desktop investigation, identifying and pursuing lines of enquiry and helping us to deliver an outstanding service to our victims of crime.

It is proposed that the Force Crime Management Unit will be located at Unit A, situated on the Central Park complex in Newton Heath area of Manchester.

The team will work seven days a week, across a shift pattern, but there will be no necessity for night-time working, making the role particularly suitable to officers requiring greater flexibility.

We feel that the opportunities in GMP are unrivalled anywhere in the North West and that, as a growing force of almost 8,000 officers we can, once again, tackle the future with confidence and support the communities of Greater Manchester more effectively.

If you are a Inspector, confirmed in rank and seeking a new challenge, improved work life balance or simply the ability to work more flexibly in a shift work environment, we want to hear from you.
