There is a new and exciting opportunity to join the Transformation Office, based at The Atrium, Dorchester.


A full time (37.5 hours per week), permanent, Band 6, Transformation Project Officer has arisen within the Transformation Office Team.

As a member of this team, the post holder will professionally support specific service improvement initiatives. They will need project management and change management skills to engage and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders. The post holder must be able to encourage others to adopt and adapt to change.


The post holder will join a team of staff who have service redesign and improvement expertise supported by robust project and programme management.

The work of the team is diverse and covers all clinical and clinical support services across the Trust and across the system.

We support individual services and teams to transform, improve clinical outcomes, enhance the patient and staff experience, to deliver safe, efficient and affordable services

  • To lead on the planning, delivery and management of the Transformation projects within the Trust and across the Dorset ICS.
  • Build effective project teams by working closely with clinical, management and admin staff, volunteers and patients.
  • To work with staff in the early stages of the project lifecycle, particularly in the development of the fiscal benefits, risks and feasibility.
  • To communicate project status, progress regularly to a wide audience. Celebrating project milestones and closure with case studies and trustwide communications
  • To use internal and external data to evidence, benchmark and reference improvement opportunities
  • Provide project support and develop the team's understanding and capability to deliver change.
  • Work with operational managers and executive teams to ensure that the agreed tasks are implemented according to project timescales and that any concerns are raised in time for effective mitigation actions to be taken.
  • Overall, the post holder will act as an ambassador for their change initiatives. They will raise awareness of the project's purpose and act as a crucial support to the management teams to ensure its implementation.
