Rookery Nook is a Salvation Army Lifehouse and has 11 rooms accommodating men and women over the age of 18 who are experiencing homelessness.

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated
Cleaner to join our team.


Key Responsibilities:


As someone committed to providing a high-quality environment for our clients, our cleaners play an important part in providing safe, clean environments in which our clients can thrive in.

You will be carrying out a range of cleaning activities including mopping, sweeping, dusting, emptying bins, and cleaning void rooms.


  • Ability to work as part of a staff team to ensure any health and safety issues are addressed by on site staff.
  • Awareness of Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise.
  • Ability to respect Confidentiality in line with policy.
  • Ability to keep all appropriate paperwork evidencing tasks completed to support the services provided at the Lifehouse.
  • All areas of your schedule are completed as required.
  • All checklists are signed off as required.
  • Good time keeping and smart appearance.
  • Willingness to undertake any training as deemed necessary.
  • Ability to adhere to COSHH regulations, ensuring the correct use and storage of cleaning substances and materials.
  • A can do and nonjudgemental attitude.
