Contract Type: Temporary for 12 Months

Role Purpose:


Supporting the file preparation process of the digital case file to achieve the objectives of ensuring cases are progressed to CPS and through the court systems.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Interrogate, maintain, and retrieve data/information using various computer and manual recording packages, accurately contributing to monitoring activities for own and multiagency partnership purposes.
  • Review and process Digital Files (Remand files, Postal Requisition, SJP files and Youth Summons files) to Court and CPS.
  • Review and check quality of Files for all Postal Requisitions/SJP cases, completing remedial/redaction work as necessary for first Court Hearing (Guilty Anticipated Plea).
  • Identify any potential data breaches and report to the appropriate agencies/department and Supervisor, completing any remedial work as required.
  • Using the Connect computer system prepare a Postal Requisition for postal service to defendants to attend South Yorkshire Magistrates Court
  • Complete Biometrics (DNA/ Fingerprints) checks and issue letter to defendants as required.
  • Provide advice and guidance to officers regarding file content and court process
  • Liaison with HMCTS, CPS and external agencies
  • Update victims informing them of first court hearing.
  • Provide support and coaching to newly appointed court inputting officers and assist supervisors with "on the job" training to new court inputting officers during their induction period
  • Any other duties commensurate with the grade of the post.

This applies to roles that do have a base, however, due to the nature of their duties is required to travel to other locations.

Due to the nature of these roles, they cannot accommodate flexible working from home on a permanent basis.

Hybrid:

Applicable when the work can be undertaken at any location, whether that be a SYP building or from home.

Closing dates are not normally extended, other than in exceptional circumstances and agreement is made between the Talent Acquisition Manager and the Line Manager for the role.
