Infrastructure is responsible for a number of the Council's front line services including highways, highway development, engineering projects, transport and road safety, civil parking enforcement and Civil Contingencies.


The post holder(s) will report directly to a Senior Engineer and have appropriate experience in a wide range of municipal engineering design and construction.

The post holder must have experience of working, under qualified supervision, in the preparation of designs, specifications and engineering procurement


The post holder will hold a minimum of HNC in civil Engineering or other related discipline and have appropriate levels of experience in working in a design/construction related environment.

This post requires you to demonstrate the ability to work well as both an individual and team member with mínimal supervision at times.

The post holder will also be required to possess an ability to organise their own workload, prioritise tasks and deliver complex outcomes to tight deadlines.


The post holder will also possess:

  • Ability to communicate confidently and effectively to a wide range of colleagues, stakeholders and partners and maintain positive working relationships
  • Be able to set priorities, managing the progress of your own and monitoring the work of others in often competing demand environments.
Possess excellent computer skills and demonstrate ability to use technology in relation to design and construction processes- Be proficient in the use of AutoCAD

  • Ability to analyse complex information
