Description

Are you a naturally caring person? Do you want to get involved and help your community when it needs you most?
Loneliness and isolation is a huge issue among our elderly community.

According to Age UK, half a million older people go at least 5 days a week without speaking to anyone at all.

As a Caregiver for Right at Home Bedford you can help support the vulnerable in their own homes and make a difference at a time when it has never counted so much.

Previous experience is not essential but a kind and caring attitude certainly is.

The Role

Our Caregivers spend a minimum of 1 hour with each of our elderly private clients who live in their own homes.

Duties differ from visit to visit. Some of our clients require varying levels of Personal Care i.e.

washing, dressing and others just need a little help getting their meals prepared or keeping on top of basic housework.

Are You New to Home Care?

To ensure you are fully prepared all staff undertake a thorough in-house training programme followed by regular ongoing and refresher training.

Your initial home visits will always be carried out with a senior colleague until you 'find your feet'.

You will also have management support on every home visit you then make and will not attend clients alone until you are comfortable.

What's In It For You?

A competitive salary up to £13.50 depending on experience rising to £26 on bank holidays
PLUS:holiday pay
, paid mileage, realistic travel time between clients and company pension contributions.

We also offer generous retention bonuses and referral bonuses.

Be part of a team that look out for each other, have their suggestions listened to and finally find job satisfaction that cannot be matched elsewhere.

Career Development
Some Caregivers are simply happy being out in the community visiting clients.

However others will eventually be looking to move into one of our office based roles or a supervisory / management position.

As we are new branch there is plenty of scope for progression and we will always look to promote from within, which is supported by the relevant training and coaching to help you move up the career ladder, should you wish.

Hours of work

We have a number of clients who need support spanning the whole day which allows your job to fit around your home life.

We are currently looking for those looking to work either mornings, evenings or weekends and ideally a mix of all hours that will be planned in advance.

About Right at Home
We are part of a network of c.70 Right at Home branches that focus on quality rather than quantity. Around 34% of our branches have been rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission.
