About the Role:


We are currently recruiting for a driven and diligent Process Technologist to join or Newport site which produce 'best in class' ready meals predominantly for M&S.

This large purpose-built site currently employs around 1400 people, whilst turning over £140 million.

This site is a fast paced, dynamic and 'no two days the same' environment; making it a great place to work.


You will manage the factory development of meals from handover to launch, starting with factory trials and onto product launches with a talented team of Process Technologists alongside you.

Communication will be one of your key strengths as you will be given the opportunity to work with our established customers to develop these relationships through meetings either on or off site, so flexibility and a desire to be customer facing is a must.


Duties Will Include:

  • Drive the successful delivery of NPD/EPD launches.
  • Part of a large process team which works closely together to support each other.
  • Work as an integral member of the NPD & Process team networking with other internal departments and the customer as required.
  • Undertake trials inline with the 2 Sisters Rogerstone Park and customer requirements as instructed by Line Manager.
  • Actively support the team ensuring tight management of critical paths on proposed concepts, throughout the trial process up to product launch and post launch review.
  • Attend preproduction and product launches to support the factory production team to ensure a smooth handover from concept to launch.
  • Arrange and conduct factory trials as required by liaising with the relevant areas and factory planners.
  • Ensuring that any existing and new raw materials and packaging are obtained, and the relevant paperwork and procedures are in place in advance of the trial.
  • Conduct factory trials and capture a range factbased trial data to populate the product folder
  • Organize post trial outputs including: BOM's creation, completion of process specific controls, microbiological & nutritional testing, customer samples, organoleptic and reheat testing.

About you:


  • Ability to drive and deliver projects.
  • Previous experience within a Process Tech role would be ideal.
  • Working knowledge of Process within food production.
  • Attention to detail (Essential).
  • Food Science background or similar.
  • Strong IT, organisation, and communication skills.
  • Stakeholder management skills
  • HND/HNC/BSc in a food related discipline or 3 years' experience.
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of food processing including kettle, oven, and frying technologies.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, resilient, able to drive changes, and identify improvements.
