  • Unique opportunity to be part of the scientific leadership WEC team in Allergan Aesthetics; reporting to the Area Lead, Global Aesthetic Medical Affairs (GAMA)
  • International travel required as part of this position

Job Overview


As the Area Scientific Lead (ASL) you will be providing scientific leadership for the WEC area, for Toxin portfolio and working closely with the GAMA area Medical Affairs country teams, Marketing area leads, AMI leads, Medical Affairs Operations, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), as well as colleagues within the broader R&D and Commercial organizations.

  • Strategic and Tactical Planning
  • Delivering on Area level projects
  • Establishing external relationships
  • Providing scientific support
  • Networking within GAMA organisation and crossfunctionally

Core Responsibilities

Will include but not limited to the following:

  • Supporting Medical Affairs staff within all area countries to facilitate implementation of strategies and tactics to ensure efficiency and consistency
  • Driving high standards and coordination of scientific communication and activities across the countries within the WEC area
  • Developing and leading area level medical activities in line with the global medical strategy and complementing individual country strategies
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with top tier thought leaders in the area
  • Working together with the global Sci Comm team on continuous scientific upskilling of the area MSL team
  • Collaborating and aligning cross functionally with Area Marketing and AMI

Education and Qualifications

  • Academic background in any of the following: Medical degree, PhD, PharmD and/or other higher scientific degree or equivalent and pharmaceutical industry recognized qualification e.g. MS
  • Experienced in biopharmaceutical/medical device industry experience or relevant clinical experience
  • Proactive individual, with strong communication and networking skills to collaborate in an agile team environment
