We are:
G-A-Y is a leading entertainment bar/nightclub and promotions company.
We operate well known venues within the LGBTQ+ community based in Soho and Charing Cross in London and on Manchester's famous Canal Street.
The venues include G-A-Y Bar, G-A-Y Manchester and Heaven Nightclub where we host performances by some of the world's best known music artists.

Primary duties:
The Finance Director will have responsibility for overseeing the Purchase Ledger, day to day transaction management & reconciliations, month-end journals & management accounts reporting pack.
Main Duties:
- Overseeing the internal bookkeeper and assisting where necessary with the processing of transactions.
- Preparation of quarterly VAT returns.
- Preparation of P11Ds.
- Review and reconciliation of venue returns to Sage records.
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Month-End management accounting journals (petty cash, credit cards, salaries, cash book, accruals and prepayments, purchase ledger, accruals) and preparation of management accounts.
- Development of internal controls and improvement of systems.
- Identification of cost savings within the business.
- Preparation of forecasts and budgets for each venue.
- Preparation of annual statutory accounts at individual company and group level.
- Liaising with external auditors.
- Management of external banking relationship.
- Assisting with any due diligence processes in connection with any strategic developments.
You are:
- Proven experience of working within a small organisation and taking on multiple responsibilities, reliable and selfstarter.
- Good IT skills, ideally Excel to an advanced level and Sage Accounts.
- You are a robust, team player who is able to work collaboratively.
- Outstanding analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to present ideas and information effectively, efficiently and clearly. You are able to multitask and possess outstanding organisational skills.
- You are able to take initiative and think strategically and in the best interests of the business.
