**Data Centre Engineer
Location - Glasgow
6 Months Contract
£465 per day via umbrella company**
Key responsibilities:

Manage incoming work requests including hardware installation, cabling, decommissioning and disposal
Manage incidents and returntoservice in accordance with SLAs and OLAs
Manage workflow in accordance with SLAs and OLAs
Manage and maintain storage and inventory as and when required
Maintain records and drawings as and when required
Familiarity of Data Centre Best Practice
Power management 3 phase, phase balancing.
Capacity management (space, power and cooling)

DC Security

PTW management and access systems
Identify, evaluate and implement opportunities for improvement in energy performance
Asset management of DC infrastructure
Installation and commissioning of new server/network/storage equipment, hardware swapouts and component replacements.
Working with project implementation teams to properly test and validate installation, operation, and performance of newly delivered facilities.
Deputise for Data Centre Engineer as and when required

The following skills and experience are required or preferable for this role:

A comprehensive understanding of the fundamental hardware components of an Enterprise IT architecture
IMAC including structured cabling and network interconnect patching
Fundamentals of CAT6a and OM4 structured cabling architecture
Fundamentals of electrical power and the ability to perform basic calculations
