Description

Main duties of the job Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of your Line Manager, dependent on current and evolving practice workload and staffing levels.

Receive, assist, and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient, and effective way Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice including the provision of secretarial and clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the practice team Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care, and other associated healthcare agencies Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits, and telephone consultations To establish and maintain filing and administrative systems so that written or computer information is easily accessible and secure File patient records and correspondence in patient medical records To receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls to facilitate timely and appropriate communications with others, taking messages and dealing with appropriate queries To receive and dispatch mail Taking messages and passing on information Filing and retrieving paperwork To collect and process repeat prescriptions requests Providing clerical assistance as required, including word processing, filing, photocopying, and scanning Any other duties as requested Overview of your organisation At Elswick Family Practice, we are committed to the development of our staff.

Elswick Family Practice has a patient list of 7,500.

Our team includes GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurse, Health Care Assistants, Administrative and Reception staff, Social Prescribers, Adult and Child Mental Health Nurses and Midwives who all work together as one team to provide the best care to our patient population.
