An exciting opportunity has arisen for Support Workers to work at Amberstone as part of the Sussex Partnership Bank Team and based in Hailsham, East Sussex.
The staff who work across these wards are very supportive toward their fellow workers and always provide a caring environment for their service users.
Amberstone hospital is a 28 bed Inpatient Recovery and Rehabilitation unit, situated in rural East Sussex and provides rehabilitation for adults who are recovering from serious mental illness.
The ward works closely with Community Rehabilitation colleagues as an integral part of the award winning East Sussex Rehabilitation Pathway.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
In order to be a successful Support Worker in our team you will:
- Work with the multi-disciplinary team to establish and deliver a therapeutic programme of care for our patients.
- Undertake care duties for patients on the ward.
- Report patients condition to qualified staff
- Document care delivery in patients notes.
- Implement individual patient care plans
- Participate in meetings, training and other work related forums.
- centred experienced Healthcare support worker with an ability to work in a flexible manner to meet the demands and needs of the service.
The successful applicant would be expected to work as part of the team undertaking the assessment, care and treatment of patients experiencing an acute mental health crisis, working in a recovery-orientated manner towards the ultimate discharge of the patient.

The Sussex Partnership Bank is a dedicated flexible team providing the highest level of healthcare support across all wards and departments.
You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and provide exceptional support to both our clients/patients and their carers and relatives whilst maintaining professional boundaries.
We will strive to maintain our standards and always improve where we can and you will play an important part in this.
Our patients are keen for new support workers joining the team to demonstrate empathy, time to talk and listen.We are very proud of our standards and are looking for someone who is ready to learn and keen to develop.
Development within this role is available as each support worker is encouraged to champion and take an interest in something on the ward which best fits their skills.
Associate nurse training is also available as well as NVQ and the mandatory care certificate. Support will be provided for these.- There will be opportunities to work over a 24/7 rota which includes weekend and bank holidays.
- People with a lived experience of mental health issues are strongly encouraged to apply.
It would also be advantageous if you:
- Have experience working within a mental health setting
- NVQ Level 2 in care
