This beautiful Gastro Pub, just outside of Coggeshall has plenty of charm & character, is a local favourite of many.

They require a Sous Chef who is capable of producing high quality meals using fresh ingredients, under pressure.

This pub creates a varietyof traditional and modern dishes, has an a la carte menu as well as offering chalkboard specials, and serves around 100 covers for lunch and dinner.


As Sous Chef you will be responsible for assisting in the efficient running of the kitchen & maintaining consistently high standards.

You will also work with the Head Chef in menu development and daily specials.


Ideally you will be at either Junior Sous Chef or Sous Chef level with good experience in a high volume quality kitchen.

You must be flexible to work on all sections as required and have the ability to train junior chefs on each section.

As Sous Chef youwill work closely with the Head Chef.

You must have good kitchen management skills and be committed to providing a high level of cuisine and service at all times.

Prior experience in a similar environment is highly desirable.


The ideal Sous Chef will:

  • Have a real passion for high level cuisine and fantastic food presentation.
  • Have prior experience in a similar style establishment
  • Be able to work in a team, use your own initiative. Be innovative with concepts and ideas.
  • Have knowledge of menu completion, stock control and Rotas.
Due to the location a car driver is essential, and can be located from Colchester, Braintree and Witham
