Student Support Administrator Apprenticeship

West Suffolk College, Bury St Edmunds
**Monday - Thursday 8:30am

  • 4:30pm Friday 8:30am 4:00pm. 12 month contract.**
    Salary: £9,254.44 per annum

Will commence February 2023


Suffolk Academies Trust is currently comprised of One Sixth Form College in Ipswich and Abbeygate Sixth Form College in Bury St Edmunds.

We are currently looking for a Student Support Administrator, who will be based at Abbeygate Sixth Form College, Bury St Edmunds.


What will the apprentice be doing?

Main Duties:

  • Support Administration staff and Personal Progress Tutors (PPT) within student support and curriculum areas with a wide range of administrative processes.
  • Support the delivery of key events as required by the college throughout the academic year such as Parent's Evenings and Open Events.
  • Assist with arranging educational visits, in accordance with our procedures.
  • Maintain files and systems ensuring they are up to date and accurate.
  • Undertake copy/wordprocessing of correspondence reports, etc for teaching and administrative staff.
  • Operate reprographic equipment as required.
  • To assist with key supporting duties around the enrolment and onboarding of students at the beginning of the academic year.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • The learner will be studying the Customer Service Practitioner Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard qualification.
  • Day release to West Suffolk College.
  • Functional skills will be studied if equivalent qualifications are not held.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?


This can lead to further roles across ECG such as a Personal Progress Tutor or an administrative role, as and when they are available.

£6.83 per hour years old. £4.81 per hour - under 18 years old
