Electric Square is looking for an accomplished, enthusiastic, and self-motivated Encounter Designer to join our Brighton based team working on an exciting, critically acclaimed franchise.


An Encounter Designer at Electric Square:

  • Realises game features in-engine with Unreal
  • Works closely with the design and engineering team to help implement encounters with human and nonhuman AI
  • Communicates with tech design and engineering for to be able to bring the highest quality combat encounters

Requirements:


  • 3+ years of professional experience in mobile or console game development with at least one released project as a technical designer
  • Handson experience with designer tools and proficient with commercial or proprietary game engines (like Unreal / Unity)
  • Experienced with visual scripting (like UE Blueprints)
  • Excellent bug diagnosis and debugging skills

Skills:


  • Able to concisely articulate game concepts and analyse game mechanics
  • Understand feedback and can make a plan to address it
  • Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including with team members outside of the code team.
  • Ability to manage time and workload effectively including planning, organising, and prioritising. Able to break down and structure tasks to meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Highly selfmotivated with a positive mental attitude and pride in delivering quality
