Teacher of Science required for one of our partnering schools in Manchester

Are you a Secondary Science teacher with experience of working in a specialist SEN setting or PRU? Then this is the role for you


The school is Manchester's setting for pupils in Key stage - 4 that have been permanently excluded from their mainstream school.

Our vision is ambitious and we will require a tenacious and resilient individual as we move to larger, all through year 7-11sites which will be a significant change to the way the School has operated over the years.

Many of their pupils are vulnerable and have complex needs.

They work with parents, carers and a range of agencies and stakeholders to achieve the best possible outcome for them.

Having been assessed as 'Good' in all areas by Ofsted in January 2017, thesuccessful applicant will join our school at an exciting time in our development; and under the direction of the head teacher, and Senior Leadership Team play an important role in driving forward our agenda for excellence.


  • The vision to help drive the school forward
  • Successful experience of delivering Science to GCSE/Functional Skills Level
  • An understanding of the barriers to learning faced by children with SEMH and their families, and how to support children in their emotional wellbeing
  • Expert knowledge of the National Curriculum, particularly in Science
  • The ability to develop and implement policies and practices for Science which reflect the school's commitment to high achievement, effective teaching and learning.
  • Experience of planning and leading teaching and learning activities
  • A high level of interpersonal skills used with pupils and adults.
  • The ability to plan, organise and prioritise records and own workload
  • The ability to adapt teaching to meet pupils needs
  • Knowledge of guidance and requirements around safeguarding children.
  • A commitment to excellence for all pupils
