Group Accountant Job Description

About the Role

We are supporting a long-standing client in the pharma/biotech space to recruit a Group Accountant for their head office finance team.

The organisation has pivoted into a commercial phase with their main treatment product and has experienced a long period of scaling, which continues at pace.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in preparing various monthly and quarterly accruals and prepayments and related journal entries across group companies.
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations as required.
Support completion of monthly and quarterly SOX controls as required.
Direct liaison with external auditors through the quarterly and year-end close process ensuring any audit queries are managed and resolved in an effective and timely manner.

Requirements

A qualified ACA/CA or ACCA with a combination of experience within an accountancy practice environment and industry.
Public company experience in a corporate accounting or reporting role with exposure to financial audits and internal control risk assessments.
Strong technical accounting skills (IFRS).
Hands-on experience of internal financial controls (ideally including SOX experience).
Resilient and flexible to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Working Arrangements

2 days a week in the office.
