Innova Search are partnering with a leading branded food manufacturer in their search for a Logistics Manager. This is a permanent role based in Greater Manchester.


The Role:


The role is to manage our client's 3PLs in the global network to support delivery of customer service to the highest standards whilst identifying cost saving and operational performance efficiencies.

Also, to manage the development of the 3PL network versusour client's company goals and targets.

You'll need to ensure that the best rates and service levels are managed with the right freight forwarders for all container freight routes globally.


Responsibilities:


  • The 3PLs used by our client globally require active management to ensure that performance is at the highest possible levels along with swift issue resolution and identification and delivery of improvements
  • Coordination and delivery of Operations Projects to deliver benefits this includes development of the Supply network across all regions
  • Actively manage the selected range of freight partners to deliver competitive shipping rates for containers on sea routes
  • Manage stock movements (finished goods and packaging) between warehouses
  • Manage Operations Coordinator to ensure that product movements are managed from factories to warehouse using the right carriers with required documentation and are booked in & unloaded successfully
  • Support the implementation of SLAs with suppliers and improved understanding of supplier operations and cost drivers
  • Work closely with 3PL partners and CS Manager to ensure customer service to our retailers is of the highest standard and is the most cost effective
  • Engage with Sales colleagues and customer contacts to review and optimise the delivery/collection service
  • Management of the Operations Coordinator to ensure that all import & export documentation is correct and fit for purpose
  • Work to develop the service to the online channel customer base, including Amazon, across all regions
  • Hold review meetings with 3PL partners to shape and ensure KPIs are adhered to

Required Experience:


  • Working with 3PL and freight forwarding partners
  • Experience of delivering best in class customer service
  • Experience of international product movements including import & export documentation
  • Knowledge of the seafreight industry
  • Experience of identifying and driving improvements across distribution network (cost optimisation/lead times/service levels) using cross functional team as well as third parties)
