Description
I am a young lady with a learning disability, clinical diagnoses and limited verbal communication. I communicate with various electronic aids, and by BSL. I live at home with my family in the Morpeth area of Northumberland.
I am looking for a Senior Support Worker to lead my team of fabulous Support Workers


Knowledge and qualifications:

You must have experience implementing a PBS framework and be willing to commit to further training in PBS (training will be provided).


Have an appropriate professional qualification, such as an NVQ level 2 or 3 or A level equivalent and or relevant experience.


Experience of working with people with additional communication needs and a qualification in British sign language, or a willingness to complete training in this (training will be provided).

Ensure behaviour support plan and other care plans are consistently implemented.

This will include observing staff, completing staff competency assessments, giving staff effective feedback, aiming to constructively improve their performance with the goal of supporting me to live my best possible life.

High level of computer literacy using; Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Google sheets and Excel to produce reports, correspondence, documents, databases and spreadsheets

You need to be a happy, positive, and caring person. I love to get out and socialise, and will need you to help facilitate this.

I enjoy going out to see friends, go bowling, shopping, etc, so you will need a full, clean driving license.

You will lead on the implementation of a Positive Behavioural Support framework of support for me.

There are a number of strategies in place to help me be the best I can be, and you will help implement these, offering guidance and coaching to my Support Workers.

You will help others understand the reasons behind any periods of behavioural challenge, which will help guide future practice and will help my team to manage the emotional impact of their role through supportive practices such as supervision, incident analysis and debriefs.


Hours: 37 hours per week Monday to Friday.

Rate of Pay:
£14.07 per hour.


Flexibility
of working hours is important, and you will need to provide emergency support cover for staff sickness as required.
An excellent training package is available to ensure you are trained to the highest standards.
